TEAM UNIFORMS: All players must wear jerseys/shirts. Pinnies will be provided if contrast is needed between team uniforms.
TOURNAMENT EQUIPMENT: The ball to be used for all games is a size 4 street soccer ball.
FIELD DIMENSIONS: The playing field is 60 feet long by 40 feet wide.
GOAL: The goal is three feet high and five feet wide.
GAME START AND DURATION:
The game shall consist of two 12 minute halves separated by a two minute halftime period. Games tied after regulation play shall end in a tie except in playoffs. Teams shall report to assigned fields a minimum of 10 minutes prior to assigned start time. In the event that a team is not readily available at game start time, the game shall begin by starting the time clock and one (1) goal will be awarded to the opposing team for each minute that team is late. The team may report and the game will commence and finish based on timekeepers clock. In the event any team is more than 5 minutes late for the start of their game, that game will be forfeited. Teams are responsible for waiting until their eligibility for playoffs has been determined. There are no timeouts.
SUBSTITUTIONS:
Substitutions may be made at any dead ball situation, regardless of possession. Teams must get the referee’s attention and players are to enter and exit at mid-field. There are no substitutions on the fly.
GOAL SCORING:
A goal may only be scored from a touch (either by offense or defense) outside of the goal arc.
PLAYOFF OVERTIME:
Shall consist of a 2 minute sudden death overtime period, with a coin toss to decide kick-off direction. The first team to score is the winner. If still tied, then this is repeated, except 3v3 for 2 minutes. If still tied, then 2v2 for 2 minutes. If still tied, then 1v1 until somebody scores.
DIVISION STANDINGS:
All division standings shall be determined by the following point system: (i) win=3 points, (ii) tie=1 point, (iii) loss=0 points.
A game forfeited will be scored 5-0 and the winning team receives 3 points. Points will be tallied to determine a winner in each division. In the event of a tie, the division winner will be determined in the following order of applicability:
1. Winner in head-to-head competition.
2. Goal differential (difference between goals scored for and against).
3. Goals for (maximum of 10 per game).
4. Goals against (maximum of 10 per game).
5. Coin toss.
THERE ARE NO OFFSIDES IN 4-V-4 SOCCER
NO SLIDE TACKLING IN 4-V-4 SOCCER
FIVE FOOT RULE:
In all dead ball situations, including kickoffs, defending players must stand at least five feet away from the ball. If the defensive player’s goal arc is closer than five feet, the ball shall be placed five feet from the goal area in line with the place of the penalty.
KICK-INS:
The ball shall be kicked into play from the sideline instead of thrown in.
INDIRECT KICKS:
All dead ball kicks (kick-ins, free kicks, kick-offs) are indirect, with the exception of corner kicks and penalty kicks.
GOAL KICKS:
May be taken from any point on the end line, and not in the goal arc area.
KICK OFF:
Is an indirect kick and may be taken in any direction.
PENALTY KICKS:
Shall be awarded if, in the referee’s opinion, a scoring opportunity was nullified by the infraction (the infraction does not automatically result in a red card). It is a direct kick taken from the center of the mid-field line with all players behind the mid-field line and the player taking the kick. This is a dead-ball kick. The kick must go in a forward direction. If a goal is not scored and the ball goes out of play, the defense obtains possession with a goal kick. If a goal is not scored and the ball remains in play, the game resumes. No one may interfere with the ball or kick until the ball either hits the post, crosses the goal-line (resulting in goal), goes out of bounds (resulting in goal kick or side-line kick in), or 5 seconds transpires and the ball has still not done any of the above. Any interference with a penalty kick will result in an automatic goal for the kicker’s team.
FORFEITS:
Any team forfeiting two consecutive games in pool play will be removed from the tournament. Registration fee is non-refundable.
PROTESTS:
THERE ARE NO PROTESTS. All problems will be resolved by the Field Marshal or Tournament Director.
SPORTSMANSHIP:
Players, coaches and spectators are expected to act in the nature of good sportsmanship at all times. Abuse of the referees will not be tolerated. Any instance of such conduct will disqualify the responsible team from the event.
ALL RULES ARE SUBJECT TO THE REFEREE’S DISCRETION, AND HER/HIS DECISION IS FINAL!
